The Audacity Bootcamp Podcast is Live!

The rumors are true! The Audacity Bootcamp Podcast is live – 3 days early. Originally scheduled for the 5th of April, it’s out now. It was approved by Apple Podcasts in less than 24 hours which put the whole process into high gear and enabled me to get it published a few days early. If you would like to subscribe, it’s available on your favorite podcast app including iHeartRadio, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and Audible. I hope you’ll check it out and give me a follow.

Let’s talk about directory preferences, a new feature in Audacity 3.0.0. Audacity now lets you open, save, import, and export from and to specific directories.

Bug Alert: The Noise Gate in Audacity Version 3.0.0 is Broken!

There’s a serious bug in the newly released Audacity 3.0.0. The Noise Gate doesn’t work! You read that correctly. I’ll say it again. The Noise Gate in Audacity 3.0.0 doesn’t work! The good news is Audacity version 3.0.1 will have the fix. In the meantime, here’s a link to the temporary fix. It’s a Nyquist plug-in that can be used until version 3.0.1 is out.

What’s New in Audacity 3.0.0: Macro Import, Export, and Comments

Audacity 3.0.0 gives us the ability to import and export our macros and to add comments in a macro step. This is a big deal if you use macros like I do.

What’s New in Audacity 3.0.0: Project Backups

There’s a new feature in Audacity 3.0.0 that’s pretty sweet. It gives you the ability to make a quick duplicate copy of your project at any stage of production. This is good if you want to save your project at different intervals with different names (i.e. different version numbers) and keep the saved backups untouched as you forge ahead on the original project. The uses for this are almost unlimited. Let me show you how it works.
